CHAPMANVILLE — All good things must come to an end.The winning streak by the Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team was good while it lasted but it was bound to end.Saturday, the Tigers saw that end as Class AA No. 4-ranked Chapmanville lost 6-1 to Class AA regional rival Wayne at Chapmanville’s Ted Ellis Field on the second day of the Daffer Memorial Tournament.The Tigers fell to 11-1 on the season with the loss. Chapmanville had beaten Capital 8-4 last Friday night on the first day of the Daffer tourney and finished 1-1 in tournament play. Nitro, which won 11-1 over Capital on Saturday, was 2-0 in the Daffer.

Newcomer Tanisha Adams is making waves with the Chapmanville Regional High School track and field team this spring.At last Friday’s Walt Dryden Sam Lerose and Stan Smith Invitational held by St. Albans High School at Charleston’s Laidley Field, Adams took sixth place out of 46 total girls in the 200-meter dash.Adams also helped Chapmanville’s girls to fourth-place finishes in the 4x400 and 4x200 relay teams where she ran the second leg.
