CHAPMANVILLE Riley Jordan Evans of Chapmanville recently graduated from the Mid-America College of Funeral Services in Jeffersonville, Ind., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.
Graduation services were held at the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., with a dinner following at King Fish Restaurant on the Ohio River in Jeffersonville where Evans was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel. Evans also graduated with honors, served as the class vice-president and served as senior artist in the Pi Sigma Eta National Morticians Fraternity Lambda-Kappa Chapter. Evans recently passed both sections of The National Board of Funeral Service exam.
Evans is a 2007 graduate of Chapmanville High School. He is the son of Riley Joe and Teresa Evans of Chapmanville, and the grandson of Milford Evans, Paul Brewster and the late Riley Evans and the late Imogene Brewster. He is the brother of Brittany Joe Evans and Nicole Ellis and an uncle to KalLee Jo Ellis.
He plans to continue to work at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Chapmanville where he has already been a licensed crematory operator for the past three years.
