A local woman was arrested on child neglect charges this weekend after she allegedly was found drinking with a baby in a local club. Rhonda Dingess, 35, of Chapmanville, was arrested in Logan County by Officer S.D. Newman of the Chapmanville Police Department for child neglect on Nov. 3. According to police reports at 10:35 p.m. the officer received an anonymous tip that 'there was a drunk person in Bebe's with a two year old child." "After looking through the door at Bebe's, Rhonda had the lady that works there watch her kid while she went and gambled and drank," the report states. "After her brother-in-law came out to get a bottle out of her car we asked her to step outside. When she did, we asked her how much she had to drink and she stated only three. We found numerous empty bottles around her and she also blew a .102 on a PBT and had her brother-in-law come and take her child. She said it was okay." She was taken into custody and booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at 12:30 a.m. She was not the only person to get in trouble with the law over alcohol recently. Kara Renee Bragg, 22, of Omar, was arrested by Deputy Jason Mathis of the Logan County Sheriff's Department for DUI, second offense, third degree driving on a suspended and revoked license and a traffic offense on Oct. 24. She was booked at the regional jail at 5:35 p.m. Bragg was arrested three times in July of 2007, including reckless driving and driving on a suspended license, obstructing an officer and possession with intent to deliver on July 4. She was arrested for driving on a suspended license and speeding on July 10; and possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication on July 30. In 2006 Bragg was arrested on Burglary charges on January 27; DUI, driving on a suspended license no proof of insurance and a registration violation on May 6. Possession of a controlled substance on April 13, 2005, and destruction of property on May 16 of 2004. Bragg was one of many people arrested in recent weeks on DUI or traffic related offenses.
