LOGAN, W.Va. Mrs. Sandra Sandy Sue Newsome, 56, of Logan, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.
Born September 21, 1953, at Williamson, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Gertie Mae Wiley Dingess. Also preceding her in death was one bother, Kendall Dingess.
Sandra was a 1972 graduate of Logan High School and was employed by G.C. Murphy Co. for over 20 years from where she retired. She was a devout Christian for more than 40 years who loved the Lord and was of the Church of God Faith. Sandra was a beautiful, loving person who saw good in all people and treated everyone she met with extreme kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Charles Newsome; one brother, Glenn (Janet) Dingess of Logan, and two sisters, Regina (Ernie) Wood of Logan and Dewana (Steve) Bircheat of Chapmanville. Sandra was a very special aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly and treated as if they were her own children. She is also survived by two special brothers-in-law, Paul Newsome of Holden and Roy Newsome Jr. of Harts, and a very special friend, Patsy Robinson.
Sandra wished to be cremated and desired no funeral or memorial services to be conducted.
Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville is serving the Newsome family in fulfilling Sandras final wishes.
