After three weeks of the Coalfield Youth Soccer League, the red and blue-clad Bulldogs are still the team to beat in the 13-and-under age group.
The first week saw team captain, Aidan Napier, take his team to a 10-2 victory over the Scorpions and in the second week they kept their winning ways going by knocking off the Red Dragons in a 5-2 victory.
After that they took out the Sharks with an 11-0 win.
To date, the leading scorer is striker, Steven Clemens, who is on fire and was also MVP for Week Two. The MVP for Week One was defender Whitney Evans, who has a squad of defenders at her disposal to keep the back line strong, such as newbies Hunter Alfrey, Trent Orso and Jordan Kelly.
In mid-field Napier works with fresh new talent including Nikki Ellis, Andrew Chapman and Wesley MacNamara. Together they help him develop attacks and defend against the onslaught of the opposing teams.
Steven Clemens and Walter MacNamara, together with Allen Kelly, who was the Week Three MVP, make up the strike team.
The team’s overall MVP for the previous season was Cameron Adkins who kept his position as goalie, where he managed to keep a clean sheet in weeks one and three.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to play the Scorpions on Saturday at the Mullens Sports Complex in Chapmanville.
