MT. GAY, W.Va. — Mr. Michael Bert Noel, 55, of Mt. Gay, was born July 7, 1957, at Logan, a son of Helen Brewster Noel of Monaville and the late Franklin F. Noel. He departed this life after a short battle with cancer Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Noel was a body man for Auto Body Specialist. He was an avid musician, playing the guitar and various other instruments, played in various bands including ‘Crazy Lester and The Hell Hounds’, ‘Daddy Rabbit Band’, ‘Street Players’, and the ‘Rebel Band’, he loved and enjoyed life, loved his boat and motorcycle and loved to carry on.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Noel and his paternal grandparents, Albert and Tazzie Noel and maternal grandparents, Bill and Ethel Brewster.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 10 years, Juanita Marie Curry Noel; children, Michael F. Noel of Harts, Bo (Melissa) Darby of Whitman, and Kim Darby of St. Albans; sister, Kristina (Danny) Fleming of Monaville; brother, Emanuel Noel of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Ariel Noel of Harts and Mia Darby of Whitman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rickie (Melanie) Curry, Audrey Curry and Lori (Steve) Workman, all of Phico, Mary (Kevin) Collins of Chapmanville, Jackie (Danny) Scaggs of Rocky Branch of Chapmanville, and Joyce (Vic) Ingram of Florida; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, special aunt, Geneva Adkins and two special dogs, Jada and Kelsie.
Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Michael Hartwell and Harry Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hunter, Chris Hunter, Steve Workman, Danny Fleming, Timmy Moore, Mikey Baisden, Jason Blankenship and Michael Noel Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Wells, Greg Merritt, Larry Butcher, Bobby Kirkendoll, Rickie Curry Jr. and Danny Scaggs
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
