YOLYN, W.Va. — Johnny “Bear” Runyon, 54, of Yolyn, departed this life Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at CAMC General at Charleston.
Born February 1, 1958, in Delbarton, he was a son of Joe (Rachel) Runyon and the late Betty Jean Runyon. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Ronnie Joe Runyon.
Bear enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing, boating, camping, four wheeling and spending time with his family.
Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brittney Runyon of Yolyn; two children, Jaylin Dingess of Yolyn and Jonny Jenkins of Delbarton; five sisters, Dorothy (Moose) Bell of Varney, and Roberta Kahlson, Nancy (Calvin) Case, Mary Jo (Darius) Twitty and Amy Runyon, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Melvin (Kaye) Coburn of Laurel Creek and Todd Hatfield of McAndrews, Ky., and two grandchildren, LJ and Chloe.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 24, at Freeman Funeral Home with Charlie Dingess officiating. Burial will follow at the Curry Cemetery at Elk Creek.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home.
