HENLAWSON, W.Va. — Barry G. Collins, 61, of Henlawson, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after suffering a long illness.
Born July 15, 1951, in Logan, he was a son of the late Fred and Letha Collins.
Barry was a former truck driver for 39 years; 24 of those years were with Ferrell Excavating of Pecks Mill, and a member of the Mt. Gay Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Glenna Collins; one son, Brett Collins of Logan; three stepsons, Thomas (Alex) Hodge of Huntington, Eddie (Michele) of St Albans, Joseph (Miyoun) of New Port News, Va.; one ste daughter Kellie Conley of Logan; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Hailey Collins, Katelyn Conley, Anthony Hodge, Tylor “TJ” Mullins, Alyson Bias, Jacob Bias, Olivia Bias and Evan Bias; two special buddies, Smokey and Cody Conley, and his namesake, Tyson Jack Barry “Woof”.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, November 29, at the James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Layton Lockhart and Brother Rick Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Vance Cemetery at Holden.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Mt. Gay Freewill Baptist Church.
James Funeral Home of Logan is in charge of the arrangements.
