HENLAWSON, W.Va. — Mrs. Irene Thacker Williamson of Henlawson was born October 15, 1922, at Big Creek, a daughter of the late Sam and Willie Vaughn. She departed this life Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Mt Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. Williamson was president of the local AARP chapter in Logan and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; sister; daughter, Patricia Carol Kinser; grandson, Patrick Kinser; son, Ronald Thomas Thacker; grandson, Ronald Lee Thacker; her husband of 25 years, Sigel W. Thacker, and her second husband of 35 years, Donald Williamson.
Survivors include her sons, S. David (Kathie) Thacker of Logan and Sidney L. (Juanita) Thacker of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Martha Thacker of Huntington; son-in-law, Pat (Becky) Kinser of White Sulfer Springs; sisters-in-law, Mildred and Opal; brother-in-law, Homer Williamson; grandchildren, Sydney Sue Thacker, Kristy Proffitt, Tammy (Mike) Hannah, Amy (Dave) McCarty, Ethel Kinser, Gwen (Jonathan) Harless, Stacie (Jay) Mayhon and Brent (Sarah) Thacker; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Hailee, Lexis, Alex, Bethany, Bradlee, Parker and Conner; great-great-grandson, Brentlee Kruze who is due to arrive March 31, 2013, special friends, Laura Vaugh; Donald Stemple, postmaster at Henlawson, and all of her special friends.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at Mt. Carmel East Hospice 4th floor.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Orville Syner officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
