CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Nina Mae Wilkerson, 72, of Chapmanville, formerly of Mill Creek and Parkersburg, departed this life Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born January 26, 1940, at Mill Creek, she was a daughter of the late Elmo and Ola White. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Freddie White, and her life long companion, John Butcher.
Nina enjoyed her dogs, summer vacations to the beach, holidays and family gatherings. She was a retired telephone operator before relocating to live with her daughter Kim and her beloved pets, who she resided with before departing this life.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Lela Wilkerson of Pitts, Pa., and Kim Butcher (Glen Lambert) with whom she resided; one son, Christopher Wilkerson of Parkersburg; two sisters, Sue (Sidney) Gullett of Logan, and Jewell (Bob) Tanner of Delaware, Ohio; two brothers, Donald (Brenda) White of Chapmanville and Vontie (Jo-Ann) White of Montgomery, Ill; one very special granddaughter, Felicia (James) Garrett of Chapmanville; her beloved pets, Snoopy, Ziti and Gypsy, who brought her so much happiness; special friends, Danny and Boo Nelson of Mill Creek, Donna “Sissy” Secreto, who she loved like a daughter; and her special caregiver, Judy Curry.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rocky Chafin and Harold McMillen Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wilkerson, James Garrett, Glen Lambert, Danny Nelson, Danny Ray Nelson and Harold McMillen Jr.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
