CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Molly Whitt, 94, of Chapmanville, received her angel wings Wednesday December 12, 2012.
Born September 6, 1918, at Shively, she was a daughter of the late Edison and Alice Dingess Stollings. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Andrew Whitt, who she married June 13, 1932, and her children, Franklin D. (Cynthia) Whitt, Wayne “Andy” (Linda) Whitt, Danford (Minnie) Whitt and Phyllis (Donald) Harper.
Mollie was homemaker and a loving, dedicated, devoted wife and mother.
Surviving children include Bobbie (Mary) Whitt, Florma Adkins and Goldie Whitt, all of Ohio, Eugene Whitt and Grover (Sandra) Whitt, both of Chapmanville, and Freda (John) Jarrell of Florida; surviving grandchildren include Shellie White, Darlene Sanchez, Dwayne Adkins, Melissa Whitt, Barbara Rider, Donnie Harper, James Whitt, Beverly Bennings, Jennifer Whitt Vance, Diana Adkins, Danny Ray Adkins, Glen Adkins, Andrew Adkins, Connie Whitt, Susie Whitt, Lisa Maynard, Robin Whitt, Eugene Whitt Jr., Brandon Whitt, Johnathon Whitt, and Ashley Whitt, and several nieces and nephews. Molly leaves a legacy of five generations that carries her love. Her brothers are the late L.D. Stollings, Harvey Stollings, Ersel Stollings, Russell Stollings, and Carlos Stollings and her sisters are the late Matilda McKinney and Pearly Richards.
Molly was a member and attended the Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor John Stafford and her church family. She will be sadly missed on earth by family and so many people like her close friend, Sister Carol, and her special niece, Madeline Dingess.
The family would like to express what a joy it is to know that their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and so on were so loved by her church and friends, the care and love that was shown to her by Boone Memorial Hospital and their staff. If she could say one thing to people today Mollie would say “I Love the Lord”.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ in Chapmanville with Pastor John Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitt Cemetery at Upper Crawley Creek.
Friends may call on the family from 6-9 p.m. Friday, December 14, at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tankie Dingess, Johnathon Whitt, Alan Sanchez, Dwayne Adkins, Donnie Harper and Frankie Neal Whitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Dingess, James Whitt and Richard Lowe.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
