CHAPMANVILLE — Several Chapmanville Regional High School athletes have been named to the All-Cardinal Conference fall sports squads.
Named to the all-conference first-team football squad were Chapmanville seniors Dustin Conley, Dustin Smith and Brandon White.
All three were named recently to the Class AA all-state football team as well.
The Tigers finished 4-6 this season and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
Other first-team football members were: Dwight Blankenship, Anthony Bryant, Yosef Finton, Brandon Spurlock, Mason Hodge, Grant Ferguson, James Egnor, Austin Pyles, Zack Damron and Dustin Hatfield from Class AA state champion Wayne; Scott’s Dakota Ball, Caleb Linville, Robert Bias, Charlie Sutphin, Cameron Loftus, Triston Crone and Michael Belcher; Mingo Central’s Joe May, Garth Simpkins, Drew Kirk, Joseph Hall, Alex Lee and Chance Lester; Tolsia’s Grady Fannin, Dawson Presley, Dakota Robertson, Terry Davis and Morgan Williamson; Sissonville’s Trent Stowers, Austin Crawford, Nathan Miller and Jarrett Mowrer; Herbert Hoover’s Shaun Dotson and Cody Bowen; and Poca’s Hayden Bailey.
Chapmanville, coached by George Barker, also had several football players named all-conference honorable mention, including: Gabe Maynard, Austin Watts, Waylon Dingess, Brady Cox, Rodney Workman, Matt Dingess, Matt Chapman, Tyler Brewster, Devin Wiley, Trevor Payne, DaShawn Alexender, Zac Casto and Max Spradlin.
In volleyball’s Chapmanville’s Katelynn Hall was named all-conference first team while Alex Baisden and Haley Justice were on the second team.
Also named first-team volleyball were area players Sara Browning of Scott and Danielle Browning of Mingo Central.
Chapmanville’s Jacob Workman was also named to the all-conference golf first team. Others recognized were: Travis Gibson of Herbert Hoover; Steve Loudermilk, Alex Hamrick and Travis Covert of Poca; and Chad Honeycutt, Alex Boggs, Aaron Grant and Sterling Chafin of Scott.
