CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — William “Bill” Holland, 58 of Chapmanville, departed this life Sunday, December 16, 2012 at his residence.
He was born June 23, 1954 in Suffolk, Va., a son of the late Marion and Mildred Salmon Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas & Elizabeth Salmon and Clifton & Nanny Holland.
Bill was a member of the Madison Moose. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool, cooking and listening to his friends play country and bluegrass music at our house; he called it “living room music”.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lola Booth Holland; three daughters, Miriam “Mary” Booth (companion Gene White), Eva (Tony) Stanley and Heidi (Davin) Seamon; sisters, Barbara (Burns) Canite of Suffolk, Va., Annette (Arthur) Ellis of DeLand, Fla., Kitty Ward of Virginia, Janet Hillier of Kentucky and Marion Vicik of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Leslie (Cindy) Holland of Suffolk and Jack Holland of California; three grandchildren, Amanda Stanley, Nick White and Cody White; three godsons, Jayden Varney, JaKobie Canterbury, and Jaxton Wilson; special friends, Earl Beaton, Bobby Ellis, Troy Wheatley, Steve Wheatley, Bruce Nelson and Patsy Mahon, and three special aunts, Viola “Bo” Wilburn, Sadie Booth and Hester Litteral.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, December 22, at Freeman Funeral Home with Gary Starr officiating. Burial will follow at the Wheatley Family Cemetery, Hurricane Branch Road, Chapmanville.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Craig Browning, Matt Mullins, Drew Browning, David Walls, Bruce Nelson, Leslie Holland, Steve Wheatley, and Johnny Burgess.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene White, Jim Mullins, Tony Stanley, Paul “Dunk” Ferris, Jerry “Dilford” Workman, Chuck McKinney, Troy Wheatley and Earl Beaton.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
