DINGESS, W.Va. — Helen Hager, 68, of Dingess, departed this life Tuesday night, December 18, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born January 13, 1944, at Lyburn, she was a daughter of Elsie White York of Dingess and the late William Riley York. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, John Fitzgerald Lackey.
Helen was a homemaker and a loving wife. She was also a member of the Dingess Church of God.
Additional survivors include her husband, Riley Hager; two sons, Danny (Audra) Lackey and former wife Sharon Lackey and Garry (Cheryl) Lackey, both of Dingess; two daughters, Donna Lackey (Doyle) Maynard of Wayne County and Diane Lackey Elliott of Dingess; four brothers, Dave, Joe, Henry, and James York, all of Dingess; two sisters, Esther Meadows of Charleston and Barbara Bryant of Dingess; grandchildren, Angie (Bill) Dingess, Dennis “Melvin” (Krista) Bryant, Daniel Lackey (girlfriend Latonda Hall), Sarah St. Clair, Crystal (Floyd) Kelly, Dianne Elliott, Rose (Dustin) Workman, Gary “Bub” Followay (girlfriend Ryan Marcum), Johnce Followay, and Sabrina Helena Lackey (boyfriend Jamie Robinson); great-grandchildren, Daishawna and Zelda Dingess, Xavier Weekly, Makayle Bryant, unborn Ozzy James Bryant, Eddie, Stevie, and Christopher St. Clair, Lashonda and Floyd “Bam Bam” Kelly, Wade “Jake” Bryant, Amber and Randy Adkins, Randy “RJ”, Chase and Dean Jacob Adkins, Brooklyn Marcum, Kenleigh Marcum and Grandall Dotson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, December 22, at the Dingess Church of God with Rev. Daryl Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hager Home Place Cemetery at Dingess.
Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Friday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
