The Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary call on December 19 at McConnell and found the victim had already detained the suspect.
Deputies N.M. Booth and M.B. Carter report that in responding to a burglary in progress at Faded Oaks Drive, they arrived to find the victim holding the suspect, Jonathan Blake Justice, 27, of Stollings, on the ground in the front yard.
The victim had allegedly found Justice in an outbuilding trying to take items. After being taken into custody, Justice reportedly told officers about a bottle of pills in his pocket for which he did not have a prescription.
Justice was charged with nighttime burglary, possession of a controlled substance and domestic battery. His bond was set at $10,000.
In other court news:
• James Ashley Adkins, 31, was arrested and charged DUI and left of center on December 20 by Man PD Patrolman J.D. Thomas. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
• Shane Michael Butcher, 25, was arrested and charged with DUI, no proof of insurance and failure to maintain control on December 21 by Chapmanville PD Cpl. N.D. Tucker. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
• Clifton Michael Johnson, 23, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, simple possession, left of center, driving suspended/revoked for non DUI, and registration violation on December 21 by Chapmanville PD officers L. Preece and N.D. Tucker. He was released on a $2,500 bond.
