MT. GAY, W.Va. — Lillian Elizabeth Hatfield Toppins, 89 of Mt. Gay, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born November 30, 1923, at Catlettsburg, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Charley Hatfield and Diannah Thomas Bishop. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Okey Toppins; two sons, William “Billy” Charles Toppins and Anthony “Gee Gee” Toppins; one daughter, Patricia Ann Toppins Runyon, and two stepbrothers, Clyde Messer and Doran Bishop.
Mrs. Toppins was a member of No. 7 Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Logan Manufacturing.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Loretta Sue (Russell) Pridemore and Myrna Carol George, both of Kentucky, and Joyce Ellen (Robert) Adkins of Mt. Gay; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 10, at Honaker Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Spears officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David R Runyon, Clifford Runyon, Michael Pridemore, Anthony Toppins, Jerry George, and Brian Adkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Pridemore and Robert Adkins.
