LOGAN, W.Va. — Gladys Workman, 84, of Logan, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky.
Born August 4, 1928, in Putnam County, she was a daughter of the late Estel and Ella Mae Slater. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 64 years, Troy Workman; daughters, Sharon Lunsford, Darlene David and Joann Workman; siblings, Earl Slater, Jack Slater and Amy Workman, and a grandson, Jerry Lee Doss.
Gladys was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Terri (Terry) Lucas, Debra (Clifton) Smith, Patty (Patrick) Callaway and Jackie Workman; sister, Mamie Edwards; grandchildren, David (Tonya) Lunsford Jr., Brian Doss, Bailey Troy Workman, Cara (Billy) Comer, Kelli (Toby) Bryington, and Franchaska (Michael) Grimes, and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Desiree Lunsford, Mason and Avery Bryington and Laikyn Hatfield.
Services will be held at noon Friday, January 25, at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday with a special service beginning 7 p.m. with Rev. Richard Workman officiating at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Pat Callaway, Patrick Callaway, David Lunsford Jr., Terry Lucas, Billy Comer and Ray Vinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey and Zach.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
