KISTLER, W.Va. — Melvin M. Wiley, 57, of Kistler, departed this life to be with the Lord Friday, January 25, 2013, from his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 15, 1955, at Logan, he was a son of Glenna Adkins Wiley of Kistler and the late Melvin Wiley. Also preceding him in death was one sister, Linda Carol Endicott.
Melvin was a heavy equipment operator for Pittston Coal Company for 24 years, a 1973 graduate of Man High School and a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Man. He enjoyed hunting and loved playing with his grandson.
Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 27 years, Tudy Boothe Wiley; one daughter, Amber Lynn Collins of Kistler; one grandson, Dylan Collins of Kistler; two step-children, Keri (Judge Will) Thompson of Madison and Justin (Brittany) Thompson of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Terry L. Wiley of Florence, Ky., and Rick Wiley of Man; two brothers-in-law whom he considered brothers, David (Ursela) Boothe of Logan and Woody (Sabrina) Boothe of Lorado; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Rev. Ernie) Williamson of Davin and Mary Boothe of Charleston; several nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 28, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Grimmett and Rev. Randy Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Sansom, Amber Lynn Collins, Ricky Wiley, Rick Wiley, Kenneth Wiley and Stephen Ray Endicott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Endicott and George Robinson.
