HOLDEN, W.Va. — Sarah Bumgarner, 87, of Holden, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, at her residence.
Born January 21, 1926, at Henlawson, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Ann Brooke Woody. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Carl E. Bumgarner; four brothers, Buster “Bug”, Louie “Dobb”, Virgil and Grant, and three sisters, Rhoda Cunningham, Ruth Garrett and one infant sister.
Sarah was a homemaker and a member of the 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Phil) Nelson, Mary Ann (Chuck) Mullins and Charles (Debbie) Bumgarner, all of Holden; six grandchildren, Mark (Jeanna) Lilly of Chapmanville, Melanie Lilly of Holden, Stephanie (Chuck) Preston of McConnell, David C. (Jeanine) Nelson of Midelburg, Anna Bumgarner of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Leaha (Brent) Nelson of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Hillary and Hailey Nelson, Chase and Sara Preston, Jeremy and Josh Lilly, and Emily Runyon, and special caregivers, Mary Ferris, Connie Kirk and Nurse Theresa.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, at 5&6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Light officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Mark Lilly, David Nelson, Chuck Preston, Dennis Runyon and Brent Nelson.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
