HARTS, W.Va. — Lonnie Thompson, 66, of Harts, was born December 18, 1946, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Robert and Inice Dingess Thompson. He departed this life Monday, January 28, 2013, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.
Lonnie was a retired coal miner and loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandkids. He was a Christian for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Tomblin Thompson; children, Doug (Lulla) Thompson of Big Creek, Shelia (Eddie) Webb of Salt Rock, and Kathy (Carl) Fields of Shepherdsville, Ky.; grandchildren, Savanna, Samantha and Kolten Thompson, Jordan Ann and Erin Webb and Ryan and Dylan Fields; eight brothers; two sisters and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be conducted at noon Thursday, January 31, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Arthur Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery at Rock House Branch of Harts.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
