The Believing All is Possible (BAPS) Youth Leadership Group and the Logan County Improvement League are kicking off Black History Month with their creation of “History Wall: The Great Journey of Logan.”
The goal is to create a history of local, national and personal perspectives, stories and memories of civil rights and racial justice challenges and achievements. A look back in time may add ideas and opportunities to use in continuing efforts toward building a community united in common cause and shared destiny.
The BAPS group and some of their mentors started the wall with their own thoughts, stories and experiences. They also interviewed family members, more than one generation in some cases, to include their memories and stories on the wall.
The wall will be on display at the Logan Area Public Library through February 19, 2013. Visitors are encouraged to view and add to it.
