MAN — Westside made it a season series sweep over the Man High School girls’ basketball team with Wednesday night’s 86-48 win over the Lady Billies at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.
Westside, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AA, improved to 16-1 on the season.
Taylor Whited led Man (11-7) with 19 points. Mika McCoy and Summer Sword also hit double digits with 16 and 10 points respectively. Jennifer Shull added two points and Hannah Harvey one.
Hope Lester poured in 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lift Westside. Megan Endicott added 15 points, while Faith Davis scored 12. Morgan Spolarich chipped in with seven steals and seven assists for the Renegades.
Westside led 23-8 after one quarter, 39-23 at the half and 61-33 after three. A 25-15 fourth quarter then broke the game wide open.
Man was 19-for-29 from the free throw line. The Renegades were 17-for-26.
Davis netted two 3-pointers on the evening. Whited, Sword and McCoy all hit 3s for Man.
The Lady Billies are scheduled to host Greater Beckley Christian on Monday at 7 p.m. and play at Charleston Catholic on Tuesday in the regular season finale.
Westside plays Friday night at Oak Hill.
