CHARLESTON – The Everyone with Diabetes Counts (EDC) program is offering more opportunities for people with Medicare to participate in free diabetes education classes.
Classes scheduled for the month of February include:
• Man – Buffalo Creek Memorial Library on February 11 and 25 and 27 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Danville – Madison/Danville Community Center on February 13, 20 and 27 from 2-3:30 p.m.
• Logan – Logan Regional Medical Center (Education Building) every Thursday at 3 p.m.
• Chapmanville – Chapmanville Towers on February 15, 22, March 1 and 8 from 1-2:30 p.m.
The free classes, part of a program led by the West Virginia Medical Institute (WVMI), are open to people with Medicare who have diabetes, their families and caregivers. Nurses, community health workers and volunteers trained by WVMI will cover topics that include managing every aspect of diabetes, from nutrition to exercise to important tests and exams.
