ETHEL, W.Va. — Raymond Flemings, 68, of Ethel, went home to be with the Lord Thursday February 7, 2013, while in Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born November 23, 1944, in Logan, he was a son of Bama Lou Browning Payton and the late Edward Flemings. Also preceding him in death was one son, Dallas Flemings, and grandparents, Willard and Caroline Caldwell Flemings, Joe and Rosie Kinser Browning.
Mr. Flemings was a proud retired Teamster Member Local 175 of 30 years. Those years were spent at Valley Bell Dairy. He enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle and spending time with those he rode with. He was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Teresa Thompson of Bristol, Va., Steven Flemings of North Vernon, Ind., and Pam (Rick) Lowe of Rum Creek; grandchildren, Arianne Thompson, Stevi Flemings, Jessica Hall, Michael Watts, Shyanne Flemings, Dakota Flemings, Levi Flemings and Sophie Flemings; one sister, Debbie (Gene) Flemings of Panama City, Fla., and a host of family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 11, at Honaker Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Vanhook officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers include Earl Fowler, Frank Cantrell, Tony Purkey, Gary Roecher and his fellow motorcycle riders.
