The Town & Country grocery store in Chapmanville will host a guided grocery store tour supporting the “Shopping Matters” program sponsored by the Logan County Diabetes Coalition.
The tour is being conducted to help families learn to buy affordable, healthy foods. The tour will also explain how to buy fruits and vegetables on a budget, compare unit prices to find bargains, understand how to read and compare food labels and identify whole grains.
Not only is the tour free to participants, it will pay them to learn and practice better shopping skills. After completing the tour, participants will receive a $10 gift card to the grocery store, a workbook full of recipes and tips, a reusable grocery bag and a calculator.
Participants will meet in the produce section of the Town and Country store at Chapmanville on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. The program will last between one and one-and-a-half hours.
To make a reservation for the tour, call the West Virginia Extension Office at 304-792-8690.
