Reports say the Logan City Police answered a call to Charles Street in Logan where Gregory Aldridge, 38, of Charles Street, allegedly tried to break into an elderly woman’s home and threatened to kill her.
Arrival of the police brought about a threat to an officer before Aldridge ran into his own home. At that point,West Virginia State Police were called in.
Police entered the home several hours later and encountered Aldridge, who was brandishing a knife and attempting to cut an officer.
Aldridge was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries after officers were able to constrain him.
Aldridge was arrested and charged with burglary, assault and battery on a police officer, brandishing a deadly weapon and he may also be charged with cultivation of marijuana.
