ACCOVILLE, W.Va. — Sandra Jean “Sandy” Bailey, 57, of Accoville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington in Huntington.
Born October 4, 1955, at Man, she was a daughter of the late Harmon and Janice Glandon Ellis. Also preceding her in death were 11 brothers: Kagaer, Charles, Darrell, Zenneth, Ronald, Donxel, Levon, John Steven “John Boy”, Ricky, Mathias “Buddy” and Michael “Poss” Ellis; two sisters: Shirley Gill and Opal Blankenship; one sister-in-law, Audrey Ellis, and one brother-in-law, Donald Bailey.
Sandy was a homemaker and a member of the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno for 35 years. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, Michael “Cud” Bailey; daughter, Paula (Scott) Webb of Ethel; son, Michael (Angie) Bailey of Man; two grandchildren: Tanner and Cameron Bailey; five brothers: Danny Ellis and Jack (Sue) Elllis, both of Newark, Ohio, Larry Ellis (companion Martha) of Jacksonville, Fla., Harold (Lynn) Ellis of Accoville and Harmon (Debbie Browning) Ellis Jr. of Christian; four sisters: Barbara (Freddy) Newman of Hurricane, Wanda (Larry) Sites of Petersburg, Kay (Mike) Roberts of Chapmanville, and Sharon (Wade) Hatfield of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; three brothers-in-law: Gordon (Bonnie) Bailey of Beckley, Chester (Carmella) Bailey of Accoville and Charles (Doralene) Bailey of Bruno; five sisters-in-law: Edna Mae Ellis and Shelby Ellis, both of Bruno, Doris (Leroy) Workman and Mary Lou (Russell) Nelson, both of Accoville, and Diane (Junior) Gibson of Neibert; four special children: Stephanie Goble, Micah Goble, B.J. Sparks and Paige Napier, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and church family
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno with Rev. Bill Cantrell and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 6-10 p.m. Sunday at the church.
