GODBY HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Hildred Adams Rhodes, 85, of Godby Heights, passed away at home Tuesday, March 19, 2013, following a lengthy illness.
Born February 6, 1928, in Harts, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Florence Curry Adams. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Monroe Adams; three sisters, Muriel Maynard, Mildred Mullins and Stella Bradshaw, and five brothers, Carl, Daniel, Frank, Reed, and Willis Adams.
Hildred was a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, working with flowers and visiting with friends.
Survivors include her ex-husband, Larry Rhodes of Michigan; four sons, Rudy (Gerry) Adams of Florida, Conrad Adams and Gavin (Geanann) Adams, both of Godby Heights, and Larry Jr. Rhodes of North Carolina; two daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Gullett of Ohio, and Valerie Kingins of Michigan; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will begin two hours prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons and son-in-law.
