CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Robert Lee Freeman, 71, of Wheatley Branch of Chapmanville, departed this life Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born February 18, 1942, in Whitman, he was a son of the late Alfred and Dorothy Moore Freeman. Also preceding him in death was his infant son, Merlin Lee Freeman; two brothers, Merlin Freeman and Earl Freeman, and one sister, Helen Maynard.
Bobby enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson, Anthony, and great-granddaughter, Emily. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Mae Elkins Freeman; two daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Toppings and Kathy (Steven) Savage, both of Chapmanville; two brothers, Dale (Brenda) Freeman and Ermil (Edna) Freeman, both of Chapmanville; four grandchildren, Sandra (Millard A.) Mullins, Crystal Toppings (Dave Endicott), Heather (Mark) Adkins and Sabrina Savage; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Scott Mullins and Emily Madison Mullins; and his special brother-in-law, Charlie Elkins, and his special friends, Ken Maynard, Mike Casey and John Purkey.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Freeman Funeral Home with Carlton Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Elkins Family Cemetery at Wheatley Branch.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Toppings, Steven Savage, Mark Adkins, Dave Endicott, Millard Mullins, Steve Freeman, Jeff Browning and Jason Freeman.
