Gordon arrested on drug charges

A passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation ends up facing drug charges along with those included in warrants from September 2012.

The criminal complaint says a query for information about Gordon Robert Goins, 36, of Ethel, revealed outstanding charges of simple possession of marijuana, simple possessionof a controlled substance, destruction of property and petit larceny.

As he was being taken into custody, Goins told the officer he had placed marijuana under the car seat. A substance believed to be marijuana was found along with a pill believed to be oxycodone in a pill container.

Goins was transported to the WVSP detachment, where he stated he had a metal container in his boot. Insidethe container, the officer found pills believed to be Loritabs, Xanax and Clonazepam. The accused also had aprescription for Loritabs in a separate container. Goins gave the officer a written statement he was selling the pills.
