DETROIT, Mich. — Jason “Jay” Thomas Kirk, 34, of Detroit, Mich., departed this life Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Detroit.
Born September 8, 1978, in Detroit, he was a son of Barbara Sue Moore of Ranger and the late Thomas Watson Kirk of Detroit. Also preceding him in death was Musco Kirk, Sally Kirk, Alva Gore, and Vida Gore.
Jay loved hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. He was beloved by all, including Jayla Marie Kirk, his daughter and wife Jennifer. And also his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Additionally, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jennifer Kirk; one daughter, Jayla Marie Kirk; two sisters, Denise (Michael Jeffrey) Farmer and Bridgette (Scott) Fluegge; three nephews, Travis Justin Farmer, Anthony Kirk and Eric Scott Fluegge, and two nieces, Katie D. Farmer and Rachel Fluegge.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Manasses Hensley and Rev. Tom Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Gore-Farley Cemetery at West Fork.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Travis J. Farmer, Eric S. Fluegge, Anthony Kirk, Johnny Fleming, Hank Dingess, Jerry Gore, Randy Gore and Scott Fluegge.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jeffrey Farmer and Terry Gore.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
