BUFFALO CREEK — The Buffalo Creek Watershed Association held their 8th annual Spring Break fishing rod and reel give a way to children in Man area on Monday, April 1.
“We gave away 125 rods and reels and tackle boxes full of things to the children in Man area,” said Perry Harvey, Buffalo Creek Watershed member.
Despite the overcast and cool weather, Harvey estimated that more than 500 people attendance.
“We love to help the kids with this. Buffalo Creek is a hunting and fishing town. What better way to give to the children at spring break so they can fish during their time off,” said Harvey.
Those attending also enjoyed free pizza, hot dogs, soda and chips.
“We stocked Buffalo Creek with over 1,500 pounds of trout too,” said Harvey “The Buffalo Creek Watershed Association would like to thank all the fine sponsors for all their donations and help to make this event a huge success every year at the Justin McCoy Memorial Park at Crites on Buffalo Creek.
The Logan County Commission, Cliff’s Logan County Coal, Ole Fire Pit, Evergreen Reclamation, Mac’s Service Center, Mac’s Auto Parts, White’s Armature, C&L Super Serve on Huff Creek, LB&T Man Bank, Pic-Pac, State Farm, Guyan Flowers, Uncle Sam’s Loans, Trogdons, Giovanni’s and Ellis Supply, along with many others, helped sponsor the event.
The Buffalo Creek Watershed Association began the event in 2005. Current board members are Edison Adkins, Perry Harvey, Arthur Brunty, Johnny Doss and David Crawford.
