Workman was fifth in the 200-meter dash out of around 60 runners. He is currently ranked third in the state in Class AA.
The Chapmanville track team is slated to have another meet on Tuesday at Poca High School’s Dick Darby Classic.
CRHS track coach Joetta Thompson said she saw some good things at Cabell Midland.
“We faced a lot of AAA schools with talented athletes who have proper facilities to practice on and with and we still pulled out some winners as well as personal bests,” she said. “As long as my teams keeps training and trying, we will continue to have a great season. I am proud of their effort and attitudes to date. Hopefully we’ll do even better at the upcoming meet at Poca.”
