This year, eight Chapmanville Regional High School singers auditioned for and were accepted into the 2013 All State Choir. The eight vocalists joined 221 other vocalists from around West Virginia in Charleston on February 28. They performed as the conference finale on March 2nd at the municipal auditorium in Charleston.
As part of there mission, the West Virginia Music Educator’s Association (WVMEA), in cooperation with the West Virginia Department of Education facilitates the West Virginia All State Band, Orchestra and Choir at their annual winter conference. WVMEA is a service and professional organization for music teachers engaged in teaching school music in West Virginia. WVMEA is the state affiliate of the Music Educators National Conference, a professional organization of over 65,000 members.
WVMEA’s objective is to strengthen and advance the cause of music education throughout the Mountain State by providing in-service conferences, cooperating with other educational organizations in matters pertaining to music education, and disseminating information regarding current developments in music education, WVMEA
CRHS participants were Autumn Collier, Keri Belcher, Kaitlyn Bircheat, Shani Sperry, Zeb Vance, Rodney Adams, Derrick Lowe and Levi Clemens.
