VERNER, W.Va. — Steven Craig Ryder, 48, of Verner, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined his many loved ones waiting for him in heaven Saturday, April 6, 2013, from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.
Born July 7, 1964, at Aurora Colo., he was a son of George and Peggy Browning Ryder of Verner.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Layman Ryder and Christine Toth, and his maternal grandparents, Segal and Betty
Browning; and his aunt, Mary Katherine Browning.
Steven was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a 1987 graduate of Gilbert High School. A member of the Sharon Heights Assembly, he loved the Lord and loved giving Him praise. He loved to count money and to collect rocks. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Additionally, those left to love and cherish the memory of Steven and to mourn his passing include his sister, Betty Lynn Drew (companion Kevin Brown) of Charleston; brother, Terry L. (Jeannine) Ryder of Ocean Spring, Miss.; three nieces: Christine, Paige and Terra Ryder of Ocean Spring; nephew, Harry “Buster” Drew of Charleston, and a host of other dear family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Verner Community Church with the Rev. Arville Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning Cemetery at Verner.
Friends may gather with the family after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are George R. Ryder, Jimmy Browning, Ernie Browning, Rodney Kegley, Danny Kegley, Jay Bryant and Roger Dingess.
