CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mrs. Hattie E. Lewis, 80, of Chapmanville, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Chateau Grove Assisted Living in Barboursville.
Born June 11, 1932, at Barboursville, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Edith Queen Jobe. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ray Lewis; three brothers, Hubert, Johnny, and Howard Jobe, and her sister, Blanche Demidenko.
Mrs. Lewis was a seamstress at Logan Manufacturing over 25 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Logan. She was a good godly mother, very compassionate and caring, a true friend and a hard working person who loved the Lord. She and her husband shared a great love for each other.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Dorothy) Lewis and Heather (Jeff) Chapman, both of Chapmanville, and David (Debbie) Lewis of Owensboro, Ky.; grandchildren, Danielle (John) Browning, Drew Lewis (fiancée Dr. Ashleigh Goode) and Matthew, Emily, Rebekah, and Ryan Chapman, all of Chapmanville, David (Felicia) Lewis of Huntington, Beth (Brian) Russell of Atlanta, Ga., and Sarah and Brooke Lewis, both of Owensboro; great-grandchildren, Daniel Lewis, Nathan White, Reece Browning, Ridge Browning, Lyndon Lewis and Jack Lewis, and a sister, Rosemary Vidovich.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Pastor John Freeman officiating.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
