BRANCHLAND, W.Va. — Darlene Clark Owsley, 51, of Branchland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday April 20, 2013, at her home.
Born August 9, 1961, she was a daughter of Mary Prichard, of Branchland and the late Johnny Clark. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 32 years, Dewey E. Owsley.
Darlene was a devoted wife and a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed time with family, friends and her three beloved dogs, Rosie, Sheeba and Grey. Darlene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlin, where she loved to sing. She enjoyed kids and late night games of Yahtzee with her mother.
Additionally, those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Clifford (Caitlin) Owsley of Branchland, Steven (Tina) Owsley of Courtland, Ohio, and Dewey Owsley Jr., of Welch; a loving granddaughter, Angela Owsley of Courtland, and a precious grandson on the way, Brantley Colt Owsley; sisters Loretta (Dale) Newsome of Dingess, and Pam Owsley of Cooked Creek; four stepsisters, Gloria Foster and Lenora (Jerry) Serrat, both of Tennessee, Anna (Neal) Warren of Illinois, and Michelle (Scott) Lewis of Virginia, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Her smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at James Funeral Home with Curtis White officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
