MT. GAY, W.Va. — David M. Deer, 65, of Mt. Gay, departed this life Friday, April 19, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a short illness.
Born February 1, 1948, he was a son of the late Butler and Lucy Deer of Mt. Gay. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Jimmy, Cecil, Roger Dale and Darrell Deer, and two sisters, Mary Graham and Dorothy Williams.
David loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Richard (Beth) Deer of Mt. Gay; one daughter, Tammy (Chuck) Arnold of St. Albans; two grandsons, Brandon and Brent Deer; one granddaughter, Brook Arnold; two brothers, Eugene Bo Deer and George (Ann) Deer, and one sister Ramona (Richard) Collins, all of Mt. Gay; the mother of his children, Ruby Deer Creech, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at James Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Browning officiating. Burial will follow at the Frye Cemetery at Verdunville.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
