CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mary Ann Butcher, 78 of Chapmanville, departed this life Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her residence.
Born May 26, 1934, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Coonie and Birdy Palmer Hager. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Vaden Butcher; one son, Michael Lynn Butcher; four brothers, Ike, Millard, Tennis and Coonie Jr.; four sisters, Ester, Nora, Nancy and Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Hebert and Landon Butcher; one sister-in-law, Layune Chapman; one granddaughter, Melissa Workman; one great-granddaughter, Natalee Ann Butcher, and a special family friend, Thelmie Christian.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Sharon Rose Butcher, at home; three sons, Darrell Gene, Vaden Jr., and Mark Dwayne Butcher, all of Chapmanville; one sister, Jesse May of New York; one sister-in-law, Annabelle Bowling; one brother-in-law, Earl Butcher; six grandchildren, Gene Allen, Christopher Paul, Shane Michael, Bruce Lee, Jaden Butcher and Richie Adkins; seven great-grandchildren, Garrett, Hannah, Casey, Emily, Paul David, Luke Butcher and Andrew Workman; special friends, Georgie Hughs, Scott, Bradley and Carla Craddock, Elenor Dingess, Indie Whitt and Steve Butcher, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at noon Friday, May 3, at the Butcher Family Cemetery with John Stafford officiating.
Visitation will be from 11-11:50 a.m. Friday at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
