CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Development Office announced Wednesday that Chris Garner was named as the new coordinator for the Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) under the Local Capacity Division in Community Development.

Garner has worked in the financial services industry for 16 years. A native of Logan County, he graduated from West Virginia State University in Business Administration, cum laude.

NIP encourages charitable giving to local nonprofit organizations by awarding designated 501(c)3 organizations with tax credit vouchers. Businesses and individual taxpayers that contribute to eligible nonprofits can earn credits to reduce certain West Virginia taxes.
