BRANCHLAND, W.Va. — Mary Helen Prichard, 79, of Branchland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 4, 2013, at CAMC surrounded by loved ones.
Born September 11, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Dixie Roberts. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Johnny Clark, and her second husband, Ballard Prichard; brothers, Zenus, Bill and James Roberts; sister, Anna Rose Prather and her beloved daughter, Darlene and Dewey Owsley.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamlin where she loved to sing. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and playing late night games of Yahtzee with her daughter Darlene.
Those left to cherish her memory include one brother Walter (Janie) Roberts of Illinois; one sister, Shelby Jean Jones of Virginia; six daughters, Loretta (Dale) Newsome of Dingess, Pam (Jim Ingram) Owsley of Crooked Creek, Gloria Foster and Lenora (Jerry) Serrat, both of Tennessee, Anna Sue (Neal) Warren of Illinois and Michelle (Scott) Lewis of Virginia; 12 grandchildren, JR (Judy) Owsley, Tyler Owsley, Jessica Adkins, Jeff Foster, Jimmy Warren, Kirk Warren, Jerry Serrat, Steven (Tina) Owsley, Mary (Curtis) White, Melissa (Chad) Wilson, Clifford (Caitlin) Owsley and Dewey Owsley Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. We will all cherish our memories with her.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis White officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
