LAKE, W.Va. — James Dallas Ward, 87, of Lake, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan.
Born November 14, 1925, he was a son of the late James Okey and Ann Ward. Also preceding him in death was his wife Evelyn; sister, Pearl May, and brothers, Charles and Edwin Ward.
Mr. Ward was a retired coal miner, member UMWA, a World War II and Korean Navy veteran and member of the VFW Barboursville.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Akers of Lake; son, James Ward of Greenview; stepdaughter, Linda Doss of Ottawa; stepson, Danny Ferrell of Ramage; sisters, Virginia, Opal and Alma; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Handley Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
