CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Calvin E. Green, 65, of Chapmanville, was born July 1, 1947, at Logan, a son of the late Ray Green and Virginia Toppings Green Swann. He departed this life Monday, May 27, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.


Mr. Green was a Christian, a volunteer fireman for the Chapmanville Fire Department for many years, was devoted to Chapmanville Youth Sports, the box office/ticket booth attendant at various sporting events in the Chapmanville area and was a well-known fixture in the Town of Chapmanville.


Survivors include his sister, Phyllis (Connie Lee) White of Hewett; brother, Ron (Paula) Green of Davin; nephews, Brian K. (April) White of Seattle, Wash., Christopher White of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronnie (Brandi Renee) Green of Davin; uncles and aunts, Polly, Loretta, Kenny, Thurman and Della Green and Viola Kistner; caregiver, Juanita Paynter, and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.


Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby G. Belcher officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.


Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
