A Chapmanville police officer received a private message on Facebook advising of a couple who were growing Marijuana and who also had pills.
The officer received other tips about the same individuals advising of illegal narcotic sales and observed suspicious activity at the suspect’s apartment.
Based on the information and the officer’s observations, a search warrant was obtained. Chapmanville Police Department units executed the search warrant, finding the couple, who were detained during the search.
Officers found a small amount of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia on a nightstand by the suspect’s bed and a safe was located in the top of Workman’s bedroom closet.
Workman refused to give officers the combination to the safe and the woman said she did not know the combination. The complaint indicates she told officers the safe contained illegal narcotics.
Officers opened the safe and found eighty (80) Gabapentin, nineteen (19) Hydrocodone 7.5, seven (7) Adapex, three (3) Xanax, three Suboxone strips, approximately twenty-five (25) grams of Marijuana, four (4) Hydrocloride pills, three (3) Diazapam and $860 in U.S. currency.
Also seized by officers were one New England Firearms 20 gauge, one New England 12 gauge, one New England Firearms 410 gauge and one Savage/Remington 25-06 caliber.
Workman was charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver. His bond was set at $35,000.
