Man Police Department officers filed a criminal complaint in the magistrate court of Logan County.
The complaint says Candace Stacy, 27, of Kistler, was traveling westbound on Main Street and came to a complete stop in the middle of the road in front of the old Man Junior High School.
A vehicle traveling behind Stacy stopped just short of a motor vehicle collision.
The two drivers had a verbal altercation prior to the incident.
An eyewitness stated there was not a motor vehicle collision and both parties exited their vehicles and a physical altercation ensued.
At that time, a passenger identified as Ms. Stacy’s mother, exited the vehicle and the two proceeded to “double-team” the other driver during the physical altercation.
The officers were told by both Ms. Stacy and her mother that Stacy’s car had been rear-ended. After a discussion with all parties, no charges were to be filed. The officers both inspected Stacy’s vehicle and both agreed there was no damage and no motor vehicle collision took place.
Stacy filed a false insurance claim with her insurance company.
Stacy’s bond was set at $2,500.
