CROOKED CREEK — The Gleaners Class of the Crooked Creek Church of Christ met May 14, 2013 in the fellowship hall of the church. Hostess for the evening was Sharon Lowe, assisted by Evelyn Adams and Donna Miller.
Brenda Adams, president, conducted the meeting. Since there was no meeting in April, the minutes from the March meeting was read by Secretary Karen Dingess. Peggy Farmer made the motion that the minutes were correct as read and Lowe seconded the motion. Shirley Ruggles , treasurer, gave the financial report and offering was taken up.
Donna Miller had the prayer for the meeting and the food.
Dingess read a poem entitled “God’s Helpers” in honor of Mother’s Day. She also shared a devotion about moms written by Erma Bombeck.
Business included discussion on various upcoming projects: Vacation Bible School set for the week of June 17-21 from 6-8:20 p.m. with classes for all ages PreK-12. The theme will be “The Pirates Who Didn’t Do Anything” — A Veggie Tale”, and the 125th Anniversary of the church will be celebrated July 19-21 with special services and activities.
Door prizes of flowers were won by Rosemary Adams and Dingess.
Those attending were Mary Jane and Alfreda Burns, Diana Brewster, Rosemary Adams, Shirley Ruggles, Sandy Ray, Karen Dingess, Donna Miller, Peggy Farmer, Brenda Adams, Sharon Lowe, Debbie Hall and special guests, Mari Kirk and Briana Morris.
