BRUNO, W.Va. — Mr. James Marion Sollars, 90, of Bruno, was born May 15, 1923, at Charleston, Ill., a son of the late Russell W. and Oathel Smith Sollars. He went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Trinity Healthcare Services at Logan.


Mr. Sollars was retired from Simpson Timber Company in Shelton, Wash., a member of the NRA, the Lion’s Club in Man, and the Presbyterian Church at Gilbert. He was a World War II veteran Serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp as an Aviation Cadet.


Also preceding him in death was his wife, Lois Jean Lester Sollars; step-son, Gentry Ray Coleman, and a brother and sister.


Survivors include two daughters, Toni Sollars of Sahuarita, Ariz., and Debbie Briggs of New Jersey; step-son, Joseph (Lynn) Coleman of Shelton, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and his caregiver and sister-in-law, Meta (Charles) Justice of Baisden.


A memorial service at the Gilbert Presbyterian Church is pending and inurnment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.


Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is serving the Sollars family.
