SIDNEY, Ky. — Arnold R. “Herbie” Lively, 77, of Sidney, Ky., formerly of Landville, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 13, 2013, from Pikeville Medical Center at Pikeville, Ky., after a long illness.
Born March 14, 1936, at Mallory, he was a son of the late Herbert and Stella Justice Lively. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Plymale Lively, and brother, Harry Lively.
Herbie was an electrician in the coal mines who retired from the Island Creek Coal Company. He enjoyed camping, working on vehicles, and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include five children, Harold (Kim) Lively of Mathney, Ray Lively of Sidney, Melissa (Brian) Nau and Chris Smith, all of Sidney, and David (Dreama) Lively of Man; seven grandchildren, Patricia Snider of Gallipolis, Ohio, Christy Angel of Battle Creek, Mich., Harold Lively Jr. of Mathney, Katie Lively of Verner, Greg Kovach and Amber Kovach, both of Man, and Anna Nau of Sidney; nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Landville Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
