GODBY HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Mackey Ray Terry, 82, of Godby Heights, departed this life Thursday, June 27, 2013, at his residence.
Born September 5, 1930, in Raleigh, he was a son of the late Thomas and Minnie Russell Terry. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Walter and Elbert Terry; two sisters, Virgie Burkhead and Alma Jones, and one daughter-in-law, Sandra Terry.
Mackey was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in North Mitchell Heights. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Terry; two sons, Gary Terry and Brian (Angie) Terry, both of Chapmanville; five grandchildren, Gary Allen Terry, James (Angie) Terry, and Todd, Adam and Aaron Terry, and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Jamison Terry.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 1, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Cox and Rev. Joe Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Adam Terry, Todd Terry, James Terry, Joey Stevens, Troy Blevins Jr. and Frankie McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Robinette, Michael York, Kenny Hatton and Jonathan York.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
