The meeting held on Tuesday at Man High School to air concerns and make suggestions about the W.Va. Route 10 closure and detour routes prompted the West Virginia Division of Highways to take action.
The WVDOH is working closely with Roger Bryant of the Logan County Office of Emergency Management, Logan County Sheriff Sonya Porter, Bizzack Construction, LLC, and Vecellio & Grogan, Inc., to ensure that the local communities are provided with any emergency services they may need..
Beginning Monday, August 5, law enforcement vehicles will be posted at each end of the route 10 work site. The Logan Sheriff’s Department, Logan City Police Department, Man Police Department and Chapmanville Police Department will assist with this detail.
The Logan County 911 Center will contact authorities to open a portion of the roadway ONLY if a medical helicopter is unable to respond. Bizzack will place an additional endloader at the site to help clear the roadway quickly if an emergency vehicle needs to get through. The road will be opened ONLY if the work site is deemed safe.
Upgrades to Logan County Routes 14 and 16 (detour route) include:
